Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Who we are

LondonHomeEnergy ("we", "us") is an independent guide to home energy upgrades in London, operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

This site does not collect personal data. It has no login, no accounts, no newsletter, no contact forms, no advertising and no tracking — so in normal use there is nothing for us to hold about you, and no profile is built.

For anything relating to this policy, including any request about data, email privacy@londonhomeenergy.co.uk. We monitor that address and will respond within one calendar month. If a formal request requires the operator's name and a postal address, ask by email and we will provide both.

What we collect, and why

Almost nothing, and less than most sites you visit.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We group ours into two categories.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. At present this site sets none of its own at all — not even a preference cookie, because there are no preferences to record.

Non-essential cookies: at present, this site sets none at all. We run no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics, and no affiliate tracking. There is currently nothing here to consent to, which is why you won't see a cookie banner.

If that changes — for example if we add affiliate links or analytics in future — we will ask for your consent before setting anything, provide an equally easy way to refuse, and update this page first. Any such cookies would be optional, and refusing them would not restrict your access to any part of this site.

Legal basis for processing

As things stand we set no non-essential cookies and process no personal data through this site, so there is no ongoing lawful basis to rely on. If that changes — for instance if we add analytics or affiliate links — our basis would be your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR and Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). We would ask before setting anything, make refusing as easy as accepting, and update this page first.

Who your data is shared with

We do not sell your data, and we currently share it with nobody. This site has no affiliate partners at present. Some pages link out to external sites — the MCS certified installer register, the government's planning data service, council planning pages. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, governed by their privacy policy, and we neither see nor receive anything about what you do there.

We use no analytics provider. Where our hosting provider processes technical data outside the UK, we rely on the appropriate safeguards required by UK GDPR for international transfers.

How long we keep things

We hold nothing to retain. There is no analytics data, no cookie preference to store, and no affiliate tracking. Technical server logs are kept by our hosting provider under their own retention schedule.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: be informed about how your data is used; request a copy of any personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure; restrict or object to processing; and request portability of your data. You also have the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@londonhomeenergy.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, which is a safeguard for you rather than an obstacle.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data or a complaint about it, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — the UK supervisory authority — at ico.org.uk, by post, or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve it first, but you can go to the ICO at any point.

Children

This site is aimed at homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change — particularly when affiliate partners are added — and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in a renewed consent request.
